From the logo to the website and the newsletter to Inxmail Professional: for the 20th anniversary of Inxmail, everyone has dressed up! We have experienced a lot, continuously developed and held our own in times of changing market requirements by consistently aligning our products, services and internal processes with our customers and partners: As a result, Inxmail is now an internationally successful service-oriented best-of-breed provider. We are celebrating this with a new corporate identity and, as in the past, we will continue to shape the world of email marketing in the future.
How can we provide our partners with the best possible support? How can we work together to get the best out of their email marketing for our customers? We asked ourselves these questions and also posed them to our partners before relaunching our partner program. The new program adapts to the diverse business models of our partners and offers the option of certification. What will not change, however, is our close collaboration: our partner managers will continue to attend partner events, trade fairs and congresses.
Inxmail has always hosted its servers exclusively in Germany and places a high value on the quality of its software. In 2017, we received two awards for this: the German Association of IT Medium-Sized Businesses (Bundesverband IT-Mittelstand e. V. – BITMi) awarded Inxmail Professional and Inxmail Commerce the “Software Hosted in Germany” and “Software Made in Germany” seals of quality.
In 2015, Inxmail invites 200 marketing professionals to the Inspire conference in Cologne to get inspiration for their email marketing. The program offers exciting presentations, opportunities for networking, and insights into the latest innovations from Inxmail. The visitors, including many customers and partners, are thrilled.
The online world continues to evolve and Inxmail recognizes the need for a solution for transactional and system emails. In 2015, we release our product innovation Inxmail Commerce, which specializes in automated emails related to the ordering process, such as order confirmations, invoices, password reminders, and status messages from online portals. The first pilot customers are impressed and, just one year after the product launch, Inxmail Commerce has already won the German Stevie Award in the category “Best New Product”.
In addition to the awards for being a top service provider and a job creator, we have something else to celebrate in 2014: Inxmail is celebrating its 15th anniversary in style. All Inxmailers are heading to Lake Constance for a spot of sailing, followed by a lavish party with fireworks lasting into the early hours of the morning.
From the very beginning, Inxmail has had a common goal: to be closer to the customer. In 2014, we wanted to hear it from our customers themselves. How are our service and our individual consulting services received? An audit and a customer survey in the TOP Service Deutschland competition show: excellent! We didn't rest on our laurels, but fine-tuned our services – and so we were able to improve our result even further in 2018.
Our blog is a real treasure trove of email marketing knowledge. It went online in 2013 and since then we have been feeding the Inxmail Blog with tips and tricks, expert knowledge, application examples and trends.
Inxmail is a Great Place to Work®! This award makes the management particularly proud, as it is the employees themselves who decide on the award: In an anonymous, voluntary survey, the Inxmailers can give their feedback on working conditions and corporate culture, and almost all of them take part.
Inxmail is taking part again in 2015, when the number of employees has now doubled, and it shows that the exceptionally good working atmosphere has been maintained.
Training sessions, specialist lectures, benchmarking, practical tips, webinars – the ideas are flowing and, year on year, we are adding more formats in which we can share our growing knowledge of email marketing with our customers and partners. Since 2010, the Inxmail Academy has combined all knowledge formats under one roof. The trainers and email marketing experts do everything they can to prepare the know-how in such a way that it is fun for the learners.

Happy Birthday times two! Inxmail opens a branch in France. In the same year, we celebrate our 10th anniversary, for which our partner rabbit surprises us with a cake.
Inxmail outgrows its old offices and sets out to find a new home. The two managing directors strike gold right next to Freiburg train station. Not only is the central location ideal, but the sustainable construction of the building is also a decisive factor in the choice of the new headquarters. Initially, one floor is enough for Inxmail, but due to constant growth, four more floors have been added to date.
Inxmail user training has been running since 2005. Today, it is still about more than just imparting knowledge about email marketing and how to use Inxmail: in a friendly atmosphere, participants get to know the company and their personal consultant. Even back then, we held the training sessions at the customers' and partners' premises. Today, online is also an option, of course, and our training offering now covers all facets of email marketing.
Shortly after the API, we publish our first integration together with CRM specialists CAS Software. By connecting Inxmail Professional to CAS Genesis World, the CRM solution is enhanced with functions for professional email marketing. Further CRM integrations follow, for example, with Microsoft Dynamics CRM. We also establish and continually maintain and expand new partnerships with technology providers such as Dymatrix, Econda, Magento, Shopware, Oxid and many more.
The requirements for marketing software are changing. Instead of isolated solutions, the demand is for integration capability and networking. Our answer to this is the Inxmail API: the programming interface is our enabler and the reason why our email marketing solutions can be connected so flexibly to many data sources and third-party systems such as CRM, online shop, campaign management, web analysis tools and CMS.
The launch of the Certified Senders Alliance (CSA) in 2005 is an important event for Inxmail and for email marketing as a whole: the CSA is a project of the German Dialog Marketing Association (DDV) and eco – Association of the Internet Industry with the aim of improving the quality of commercial emails through technical and legal quality standards. We are proud to be a founding member of the CSA and are committed to fair email marketing in a variety of ways.
“The Rabbits” comes on board and our partner network continues to grow rapidly: in 2002, the rabbit eMarketing agency becomes our very first partner. Just a few months later, Unic, a Swiss provider of digital solutions, follows suit. We enjoy a close and trusting partnership with both of them, as well as hundreds of successful customer projects.
Today, the Inxmail partner network consists of more than 200 agencies and technology providers, with whom we work hand in hand as a best-of-breed provider for our customers.
The Inxmail Professional email marketing solution was presented to the public for the first time at CeBIT 2002. Since then, we have continued to develop the software and our exhibition stands have also changed.
In general, the Inxmailers are on the road a lot and never miss an opportunity to meet customers and partners in person – whether at trade fairs, customer visits, partner events or specialist conferences. Not only does direct contact give us a better insight into our customers' needs and requirements, but by exchanging ideas with other experts in the online marketing industry, we also stay close to the market and on top of the latest trends.
The official starting signal is given: Martin Bucher and Peter Ziras found their company in Freiburg under the name Inxnet GmbH, which is renamed Inxmail in 2004. The two graduate computer scientists initially develop software for the medical technology industry.
When they are unable to find a secure and stable solution for sending personalized newsletters for a project, the two entrepreneurs simply take matters into their own hands. They decide to develop the best email marketing software themselves.
In 1998, in a student residence at the University of Applied Sciences in Furtwangen in the depths of the Black Forest, Inxmail founders Martin Bucher and Peter Ziras meet and decide: “We want to be our own bosses and do something cool with software.”
Today – 25 years later – the vague idea has grown into a successful email marketing company headquartered in Freiburg. Inxmail now has more than 2,000 customers and 200 partners. 150 employees work towards a common goal: to be ever closer to the customer.
As founder, shareholder and managing director of Inxmail, Peter Ziras has been a pioneer from the very beginning. He always has his eye on the market and its dynamics. Together with his sales team, he ensures the sustainable business development of Inxmail and is always open to strategic partnerships that favor data-driven communication.
Petra Maelzer, as a member of the management board, is responsible for corporate strategy and the further development of the Inxmail product portfolio. With her strategic mindset and in-depth understanding of the market, she ensures Inxmail's visibility and growth opportunities, particularly as a networker and driving force in association work (bitkom, DDV, BVDW).
Sustainability has been an important concern for Inxmail since its foundation and is an integral part of the corporate culture.
